Food For Thought By Julie

I remember the day Ben and I said I do. I was so happy and excited to start a whole new chapter in my life. I felt so blessed to be part of the Lighthart Family. I feel so blessed that I have had the opportunity to get to know some amazing people who I am able to call family. First being Theresa, she being the most gentle women I have ever come across. Then Mira or as many of us know her, G. G. She has been the grandma I always wanted and never had. I have spent countless hours on the phone talking with her listening to stories of her life and learning about so many things from flowers, to food, to family. As this year comes to a close I would like everyone to take a moment to reflect on the things that they have learned from two of the most amazing women I'm honored to call family.
I'm not sure when or why things started going so wrong in this family, and it is sad that there is such a disconnect from one another. Being Christians we should all be able to forgive and forget and get back to what is important and that is family. Being human means we all make mistakes but if we push away everyone the first time something happens we are doomed to be unhappy and alone. I myself would love for everyone to come together as a family, a strong united family one that Theresa and Mira would be so proud of.
I know I have had my fair share of problems and I know I have hurt people, never did I do it intentionally. If anyone has been hurt I am sorry it's not what I wanted to happen. Having said that I hope Ben & William and his family can get back to being the brothers they should be. I know Ben misses everyone as I do to. Aiden , Emily, and Courtney have grown so much and it would be nice if they could have the chance to really get to know the Uncle and Aunt that live a couple blocks away. There are new little members of the family we have never even met. In the end that is just sad.
I pray that everyone has a safe New Year celebration and that we can enter into 2010 with open minds and open HEARTS!

Courtney's Gift.

I sure hope everyone had a great Christmas ! Maybe we can try again next Christmas to get together. I have to wonder what it would be like to not be sick on Christmas. My brother, sister, and I got some pretty cool stuff for Christmas. The best Christmas present was given on Christmas Eve. It was given by her doctor, she beat the cancer. I have my mom back, now I can breathe.

Christmas Fun

Aiden and Emily had so much fun with Courtney making some creative gifts for Christmas. Mom had loads of fun with them to and learned a few new things from Courtney.
Today was so much fun at the preschool! Mom helped Santa get ready to come and hand Christmas gifts. We managed to get a couple pics of the kids with Santa..

Courtney Turns 15

Courtney turned 15 on the 9th and enjoyed a quiet night at home with her family. Aunt Vilia & Aunt Denise stopped by to give her a gifts and have some cake. Vilia singing happy birthday to Courtney really made her night. She loves to hear Vilia sing!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Emily and Aiden have enjoyed playing outside in the leaves. They have made many piles to lay in and courses and obstacles for us to go through. They had fun setting up a pretend turkey dinner outside. They love the play house which is a diner at the moment. We hope everyone had a great Thanks Giving! We are sorry we were not able to visit with anyone due to Ben being so sick. Hopefully we will all be well for Christmas!!

Courtney had her friend Jalyn spend the night on Friday. When Courtney left for her class Jalyn made cookies with her. Emily had so much fun!! So did Jalyn.

Homework Help

After having dinner on Sunday evening with his Aunt Denise and Aunt Vilia, Aiden got some friendly homework help from his Aunt Denise. Aiden enjoys doing homework with his Aunt Denise!!

Courtney-Community Service

Courtney did her first couple of hours of community service today at Learning Stars Preschool. Emily was very excited to have her big sister in her class today. Aiden is going to the preschool after he gets out of his kindergarden class at 12:30. He enjoys going and seeing his old friends and has made some new ones. The school helps Aiden with his homework and allows Aiden to play hard for a couple hours which is nice, then he can come home and relax eat and go to sleep.

Mom, Dad, and Trader Joes

Mom and dad stop for a picture with a very friendly lady at Trader Joes in La Canada. We are on mission to fiend a new tasty coffee and a refreshing tidbit for breakfast. This lady always has great ideas. If you ever want something new go there she is a sweetheart.

School Pictures

It is so much fun seeing all the kids growing up!! We are still waiting for Emily to take pictures for school, but as soon as we have them everyone will see.

Bye Bye Hair

Mom has lost her hair again. Well it has been a couple of weeks now and it is returning but I keep having to explain to Emily and Aiden what is going on, and it is hard. They don't understand what is going, and well I don't either. Aiden keeps saying it is because mommy hurt her back. The test have been redone so we'll know sooner or later.

Picture Fun

These are just some silly picture of mom and the kids having fun taking pictures together and being silly. It is nice to be able to just hang out with them and goof off. Everybody is so busy these days it makes it hard sometimes..

Aiden and Mr. Fuzzy

Aiden got to bring home Mr. Fuzzy the class bear. He took him to see Aunt Denise, and told him all about Halloween. Aiden fell asleep at the table with Mr. Fuzzy while having desert. Aiden was very happy to have Mr. Fuzzy come home with him, and can't wait for the chance to bring him home again and go on more adventures.

Emily is ready for school

Emily loves the friends in her morning class and the teacher. She doesn't have breakfast at home except for Sat. and Sunday because she like to eat with her school friends and do art in the morning. Dad and mom are amazed everyday how much these kids grow. It's is absolutely amazing how independent Emily is. She is four years old and very set in her ways.

Courtney Doing What She Loves

Courtney got her first head shots done a few weeks ago. They look Great!
She got to audition for some talent agents and did great! She is wanted for film and print which is what she was hoping for. Of course mom and dad knew she would get both. It is not like she could ever take a bad picture.
